O'Dea vs Ballard . . .

O'Dea vs Ballard

Our second football game of the season was against Ballard High School . . .

and was played at Memorial Stadium

just north of the Space Needle here in Seattle!

It was a perfect night for a great game of football . . .

and O'Dea showed up ready to play!!

Although Ballard scored first . . .
the Fighting Irish brought their best game forward

and came out with a solid 49 -7 victory!

After Ballard's initial drive . . .

O'Dea's Defense held back the Beavers for the rest of the game.

  A few of my favorite moments of the game were . . .

Watching the Special Team's kick to Ballard . . .
bouncing off the kick returner - and picked up by #12 Rex Stephans
which resulted in a quick touchdown by #42 Jack Flor!

Watching the Offensive Line!!
Let's just say that they all look incredible so far this year . . .
the rushing was a constant highlight as they pounded down the field!
It was also fun to see some pass options happening as well at O'Dea - including . . .
a touchdown pass caught by #86 Alexei Oro!

Watching the Defense - these guys are amazing this year . . .
they are tough . . . and it shows on the field and on the scoreboard!

The intensity and involvement of the coaches

as they lead these young men throughout the game!!

and most of all . . .

watching the backup football players on the field during the 2nd half
of the game . . . this is O'Dea's future class - the boys we will all be watching in next year's games!

The whole team worked well together throughout the night . . .
they held Ballard back from scoring which

allowed touchdown, after touchdown, after touchdown . . .
ultimately giving these younger players an opportunity

to gain some well deserved experience on the field!!

It really was a great night of O'Dea Football!!

So - as we journeyed home for the evening . . .

some of us were already dreaming of the next big game . . .

which just so happens to be - next Friday night!!

Sept. 20th at 7:00 
at Issaquah High School!

Last weekend was also the Seattle Seahawks vs San Francisco 49ers . . .

as we saw in that game - true fans really do make all the difference in a game . . .
especially for the players on the field . . .
so for the next game let's be sure to turn up the volume!!
